My name is Dan Shoemaker and I am the broker and owner of EXIT On The Bay. I assist real estate buyers and sellers in buying and selling homes throughout Cambridge, Church Creek, Fishing Creek, and the greater Dorchester County on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. I specialize in waterfront and vacation properties on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.

A Little Bit about Dan Shoemaker
Boating on the Chesapeake Bay ultimately led me to Dorchester County, where I have resided since 2002 on Hooper’s Island in Fishing Creek. I have traveled extensively throughout the United States as well as Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and I especially love the miles of waterfront and unique charm and character that make Dorchester County so special.
I am also an active member of the Dorchester County community. I serve as the trustee for Hoosier United Methodist Church in Fishing Creek. I am also a board member and active volunteer for the Richardson Maritime Museum in Cambridge.

Lesley volunteers her time assisting youth with academics, college, and career preparation. She has volunteered as PTA president, Habitat for Humanity, and food and clothing drives. She assisted her sons with a “Teens for Jeans” campaign where they collected over 400 pairs of jeans for homeless shelters. Lesley is very involved with community service and believes that giving back is a must and not an option.

A natural business man, David Kaufmann entered the real estate industry after selling his restaurant companies in 2004. As he encountered multiple problems with the agents he was working with at the time, he realized what a difference he could make if he became a Realtor himself. Today, he has his own business called Kaufmann Business Consulting at Exit on the Bay Realty, specializing in commercial and residential real estate in the greater Grasonville region. Though he works mainly on his own, he is mentoring several people, and loves helping others learn the business.

With David’s strong knowledge of zoning laws, appeals and construction of properties/businesses, he offers a truly one-of-a-kind expertise to his clients. “When it comes to developing a property or owning a business, I have a lot of experience with everything. I’ve won zoning cases myself, and have taken properties through the whole construction process,” he explains. “I understand the appeal processes and anything that’s involved in a legal matter for planning and zoning.”
It is both his unique qualifications and trustworthiness that lead his clients to develop long-term relationships with him. Often, clients become friends after the transaction is over.
