Dennis is a native of Maryland’s Eastern Shore & was born and raised in Easton. After 6 years in the US Marine Corps he started working at the Rustic Inn in Easton. Over time he became general manager & part owner of Rustic Inn Catering serving guests over 20 years. Dennis currently lives in Easton with his two sons and enjoys golfing, coaching Junior Golf, and being on or around the water. A natural business man, David Kaufmann entered the real estate industry after selling his restaurant companies in 2004. As he encountered multiple problems with the agents he was working with at the time, he realized what a difference he could make if he became a Realtor himself. Today, he has his own business called Kaufmann Business Consulting at Exit on the Bay Realty, specializing in commercial and residential real estate in the greater Grasonville region. Though he works mainly on his own, he is mentoring several people, and loves helping others learn the business.

I’ve won zoning cases myself, and have taken properties through the whole construction process,” he explains. “I understand the appeal processes and anything that’s involved in a legal matter for planning and zoning.”
It is both his unique qualifications and trustworthiness that lead his clients to develop long-term relationships with him. Often, clients become friends after the transaction is over. I am originally from Ruxton in Baltimore studied filmmaking in Vermont at Windham College and worked for CBS, NBC and ABC as a northeast new stringer. Following the Lake Placid Winter Olympics in 1980 I moved to Oxford. My first impression of Oxford was “it’s just like New England only flat and warm”. I got my first job in maryland working for Sports Scene Magazine at Channel 2 in Baltimore. With the change over from Film to Video tape I retired to the Oxford Strand to sell windsurfers and work at the Masthead Restaurant as a bartender. In 1986 I passed my Real Estate exam and went to work as a full time Realtor. I started a Boutique Real Estate business known as Tred Avon Properties which I then sold to Coldwell Banker. When my non-compete expired I decided to join forces with Exit Latham Realty.
Over the years I have assisted by being the listing or sales agent for a number of noteable properties on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in Talbot, Dorchester and Queen Anne County including Deepwater Point, Hills Cove Farm, Windy River, Wintersell, Shipyard Point, Long Point, Middle Springs, Ingleton Manor, Woodwinds, Beverly, Little Beverly and Rabbit Point. In addition to properties on the Eastern Shore I have helped buyers in Baltimore County and Middleburg Virginia. With my International Property designation I have also assisted in a purchase in France and the Turks & Caicos Islands.
I have helped found the Oxford Business Association. I am still a founding member and also sit on the board for the Tred Avon Players. I am the Fleet Admiral of the Cardboard Boat Races that raises funds for the Special Olympics of Maryland and have been for the last 16 years. I am a Past Vice President of the Oxford Museum and on occasion will give Historic Tours of Oxford and assist with the July Fourth Celebration in the Oxford Park and Oxford Ghost Walks. I currently reside in Oxford with my wife Leigh and my daughter Galen.
What I like the best about the real estate business is helping people. If I can find you just the right house and I see you years later and the first thing you tell me is we are still in our house and just love it then I know I did well and that makes me smile.
